In the garden....

...I have been. I've been up to my elbows in dirt, my trowel in tow and have been loving every second. The weather has been gorgeous and sunny and my roses are ready to bloom!

The tea roses are planted under the star birdhouse which now is home to newly hatched sparrows :) I'm always amazed at how a simple act of listening to the birds chirp can delight. My daughter was so fascinated and tried so hard to get a peek at the babies but was content enough to sit under the arbor and watch the momma bird fly in an out. It's the little things that bring the most happiness :)

Treasure hunting has been fun lately! I just listed a great pair of Fire King mugs in the shop. They are in the Blue Heaven pattern from the 1970's. Excellent condition...

In further news on the Etsy front, I have now updated my collage art shop, Unforgettable Art. As if my life isn't busy enough, lol. I adore collage and have just listed a few recent goodies I've made. I'm working on pieces with a knitting theme right now, so you'll see a common theme here :)

"I Prefer Pretty Yarn" is on 8x10 canvas board. I love the expression on the model's face. She won't put up with anything but the prettiest yarn.

Art Tags are also up for sale now - these look great tied onto the handles of a knitting project bag. You can also use them as bookmarks or gift tags. I love them :)

Speaking of knitting - I finished the Holden Shawlette! It's soooo lovely and purple and soft! I can't wait until fall to wear it :) I just have to block it, but here it is in all its loveliness.

I hope all of you have had a very relaxing, fun weekend! Monday morning looms ahead...back to work, kids back to school, and my imaginings and treasure hunting will be fit in among the chaos :)

I will leave you with another favorite Etsy shop of mine. YannPendaries is a professional French photographer - his work is amazing! Take a peek through his shop and I guarantee you'll find at least one piece that you'll spend more than a few moments gazing at :)

I wish you all a wonderful week!!

CT Sheep & Wool Festival

Whew! What a busy weekend - but so much fun! Weather was sunny & gorgeous for the CT Sheep & Wool Festival in Vernon, CT on Saturday.

This was my first trip to this festival but certainly not my last. I had a wonderful time. The yarn, the people, the sheep, the llamas, the alpacas, music - one of those days that you wish would linger just a little longer....

My daughter was fascinated with lace making and the wonderful women at the tent gave her a little lesson...

The animals were so sweet....

a perfect spot....

we watched the sheep dog trials for a bit...

and then, my favorite part - the shopping :)
I absolutely loved the needle felted gnomes and mushrooms

and yarn, yarn everywhere

My haul for the day was not as huge as I anticipated -only because I still have sooo much in my stash still to knit. I could not resist the Mocha's Fiber Designs in Antique Lavender

and I bought my very first spindle and roving! I am beginning to learn how to spin - more on that in my next post lol.

It was a lovely day :)

Saturday evening we were back at the field for my son's baseball game. Unfortunately, we lost 9-4 but there's always next game :)

My needles have been clicking and I've finished my friend's socks. Great pattern - actually, my favorite go-to pattern for socks - from GlennaC.

and I've cast on for my mom's birthday socks in Madelinetosh Sock...

In shop news...new items have been added, including this lovely blue vase, a trio of hobnail milk glass and the novel Dragonwyck. Be sure to take a peek in the shop :)

One of my favorite shops at Etsy is FiberStory. Her yarns and rovings are absolutely gorgeous! Make sure to visit!

Happy Monday to you all! Have a wonderful week!
