A New Season....

Hello my friends! A million apologies for being so very late with a blog update. Summer has ended, my kids are all back to school and things are still hectic but a little more...balanced, if that's what I can call it. lol.

Treasure hunting has been gettting back on track so new items will start to appear very soon! Fall is in the air and I'm looking forward to the falling leaves and cooler air.

I am happy to report that owls have now been sighted at Delina & Louise :)

I hear rumors that bats and witches are soon to follow! Enjoy the week ahead everyone!

In the garden....

...I have been. I've been up to my elbows in dirt, my trowel in tow and have been loving every second. The weather has been gorgeous and sunny and my roses are ready to bloom!

The tea roses are planted under the star birdhouse which now is home to newly hatched sparrows :) I'm always amazed at how a simple act of listening to the birds chirp can delight. My daughter was so fascinated and tried so hard to get a peek at the babies but was content enough to sit under the arbor and watch the momma bird fly in an out. It's the little things that bring the most happiness :)

Treasure hunting has been fun lately! I just listed a great pair of Fire King mugs in the shop. They are in the Blue Heaven pattern from the 1970's. Excellent condition...

In further news on the Etsy front, I have now updated my collage art shop, Unforgettable Art. As if my life isn't busy enough, lol. I adore collage and have just listed a few recent goodies I've made. I'm working on pieces with a knitting theme right now, so you'll see a common theme here :)

"I Prefer Pretty Yarn" is on 8x10 canvas board. I love the expression on the model's face. She won't put up with anything but the prettiest yarn.

Art Tags are also up for sale now - these look great tied onto the handles of a knitting project bag. You can also use them as bookmarks or gift tags. I love them :)

Speaking of knitting - I finished the Holden Shawlette! It's soooo lovely and purple and soft! I can't wait until fall to wear it :) I just have to block it, but here it is in all its loveliness.

I hope all of you have had a very relaxing, fun weekend! Monday morning looms ahead...back to work, kids back to school, and my imaginings and treasure hunting will be fit in among the chaos :)

I will leave you with another favorite Etsy shop of mine. YannPendaries is a professional French photographer - his work is amazing! Take a peek through his shop and I guarantee you'll find at least one piece that you'll spend more than a few moments gazing at :)

I wish you all a wonderful week!!

CT Sheep & Wool Festival

Whew! What a busy weekend - but so much fun! Weather was sunny & gorgeous for the CT Sheep & Wool Festival in Vernon, CT on Saturday.

This was my first trip to this festival but certainly not my last. I had a wonderful time. The yarn, the people, the sheep, the llamas, the alpacas, music - one of those days that you wish would linger just a little longer....

My daughter was fascinated with lace making and the wonderful women at the tent gave her a little lesson...

The animals were so sweet....

a perfect spot....

we watched the sheep dog trials for a bit...

and then, my favorite part - the shopping :)
I absolutely loved the needle felted gnomes and mushrooms

and yarn, yarn everywhere

My haul for the day was not as huge as I anticipated -only because I still have sooo much in my stash still to knit. I could not resist the Mocha's Fiber Designs in Antique Lavender

and I bought my very first spindle and roving! I am beginning to learn how to spin - more on that in my next post lol.

It was a lovely day :)

Saturday evening we were back at the field for my son's baseball game. Unfortunately, we lost 9-4 but there's always next game :)

My needles have been clicking and I've finished my friend's socks. Great pattern - actually, my favorite go-to pattern for socks - from GlennaC.

and I've cast on for my mom's birthday socks in Madelinetosh Sock...

In shop news...new items have been added, including this lovely blue vase, a trio of hobnail milk glass and the novel Dragonwyck. Be sure to take a peek in the shop :)

One of my favorite shops at Etsy is FiberStory. Her yarns and rovings are absolutely gorgeous! Make sure to visit!

Happy Monday to you all! Have a wonderful week!

Sweet Sunday

Hellloooo! Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Last night I fell asleep listening to the rain pattering on the roof and the wind howling. To put it plainly - it poured buckets. This morning - very windy, and the sun was out but has now been hidden by clouds. My poor pansies are wondering where it went too...

My daughter and I hung easter eggs on the cherry tree out front this morning

Please excuse the splotchy looking grass lol We have Zoya grass - so for the fall through winter to early spring it's the color of dry straw. But once the spring and summer are here - lush green. :)

I am planning to spend about an hour or so treasure hunting this afternoon and then knit some more on the Tea Leaves cardigan. My goal is to wear this on Easter....my fingers are flying! lol I'm now just past the sleeves.

I spent about 2 hours knitting on it last night while catching up on some podcast listening. I'm hoping to get in at least a few hours today after dinner.

And my most recent order from Eat Sleep Knit arrived! A yummy skein of Madelinetosh Sock in Amber Trinket.

Planning to cast on socks for my mom's birthday coming up in May - she absolutely adores anything amber which is why i chose it. I was going to go with a pretty mint green for spring but knew she'd like this better.

In other news, my hubby Kevin and I are planning to have some friends over tonight for the premiere of A Game of Thrones. Have I mentioned how utterly excited I am? lol I read every one of the books cover to cover and couldn't put them down. I'm very curious to see how the miniseries portrays the story.

I even made a treasury :)

The birthday bash 34% off sale is still on now through April 30th, so please take a peek in the shop. As always, shipping is free :)
I've also decided to add a new feature to the blog to be able to show you my favorite shops and items. No matter how hard I try my favorites list on Etsy multiplies daily. lol So, I've decided to share the love and include a favorite of mine each post. Sound good? of course. :)

First up, Flapperdoodle!

Being the lover of all things vintage that I am, I ADORE this shop!

AND these dolls!

You absolutely MUST visit Flapperdoodle and see everything for yourself!

I wish you all a happy Sunday afternoon! I will leave you with The Boswell Sisters for your listening enjoyment :)

Sweet Sunday...

Hellloooo. Another Sweet Sunday has come to an end and Monday is looming on the horizon. Sigh. (I always refer to Sundays as "Sweet Sundays". lol. I try to make them the sweetest days of my week, whether I garden, read, knit, go for a walk, take a day trip - you get the idea.)

Yesterday was an extremely busy day - my middle son just kicked off a new season of baseball so we all went to opening ceremonies at the park for photos and introductions. Gorgeous sunny day for it!

Then it was off to his opening game

He and the team won 28-1! It was quite a game!

Today, my Sunday was sweet as I deliciously did nothing but flit around the house. I planted some pansies in the pot by the front fence. I picked daffodils and brought them in so the room would fill with their perfume. I've waited all winter - I'll enjoy them as much as possible. :)

I poured through the Sunday paper, made french toast w/strawberries for the crew, caught up on laundry, and snuck in some knitting time on my Tea Leaves Cardigan. I absolutely looove the Madelinetosh Vintage in alabaster. I'm hoping to finish it to wear on Easter. fingers x'd. :)

In shop news, I just listed a charming pair of milk glass lamps - very sweet. They just need lampshades!

I will leave you today with new eye candy inspired by my son's opening game :)

I wish you all a happy week ahead!

Weekend Sale and New Finds!

Happy Saturday everyone! Yesterday I kicked off my weekend with a little treasure hunting and found this amazing set of jade green salt and pepper shakers. Unmarked, so at first I was thinking they were Jeanette glass. Well - turns out they were made in 1894 by the Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co.  I adore finding so much history in such little items :)

Being the hopeless romantic that I am, my mind immediately wonders where have these little items been on their long journey leading up to when I found them yesterday in a disheveled box?

In a sweet cottage somewhere overlooking the ocean? Maybe in a Victorian mansion at their breakfast table. In a display cabinet? Oh, if these could talk! lol

I also found sweet handkerchiefs and milk glass vases. Oh, and an adorable set of milk glass dessert dishes that are now up in the shop.

Speaking of the shop, I am holding my first sale this weekend!  April 9th and April 10th only enter coupon code HAPPY15 at checkout and receive 15% off your order! Shipping and insurance is free.

I am off to my son's opening day baseball game this evening but will post tomorrow for Sweet Sunday with many more photos. I also hope to sneak in some more knitting time on the Tea Leaves Cardigan I started.

I'll leave you today with my newest Etsy Treasury....When I Take My Sugar to Tea. Yes, I listen to the Boswell Sisters a tad too much lol.

Have a wonderful day everyone!
